The College has two units of National Service Scheme to be called here in after as N.S.S. unit.

The N.S.S. Unit of the college functions under the Chairmanship of the Principal who is associated by a committee comprising of 4 teachers in charge of N.S.S. to be called as programme officers. The committee shall have the power to co-opt. N.S.S. is open to all students except those who are enrolled in N.C.C. Each student on the rolls of N.S.S. shall have to produce 120 hours of work in minimum annually. This period also includes camps of 70 hours duration.

OBJECTIVES:

The overall objectives of the N.S.S. is to enrich the educational experience of the students. This is sought to be realised by providing the students Opportunities.
  1. To understand through direct experience the realities of social life.
  2. To realise their responsibilities to the community.
  3. To develop a spirit of feeling and service to the needy.
  4. To inculcate in the students the value of citizenship and democratic leadership.
  5. To acquire skills, insight and understanding in working with people.
  6. To put into use the knowledge and skills gained in the College for the practical solution of social problem.
  7. To understand the value of constructive social action.
  8. To understand and accept the dignity of labour.
  9. To inculcate in the students a sense of patriotism communal harmony and national unity.
