Rovers And Rangers

Rover/RANGER means “senior scout’, crew means “unit’, .so rover /range crew means senior scout unit. Only bobs from +2 & +3 stream can join in rover crew and +2 & +3 girls’ can join in ranger crew. So the boys joining in rover crew are name is rover crew in our college took birth during the session 2008-2009with the blessing of our reserved principal sj. P.k panda. The name of our rover crew is jai jaganantha rover crew .the the main motto of rovering/rangering in the college level is “rendering service to the society “. This is followed by scout laws &promised. A rover /ranger after joining in the crew will make promise as follows:-

On my honours, I promise that I will do my best .to do my duty to god and my country, to help me other people and to obey the scout law”.’

Scout laws:

1. A scout is trust worthy.
2. A scout is loyal.
3. A scout is friend to all a brother to every scout.
4. A scout is courteous.
5. A scout is friend to animals and loves nature.
6. A scout is disciplined and helps to protect public property.
7. A scout is courageous.
8. A scout is thrifty.
9. A scout is a model of noble thought, word and deed.

Besides the above a rover/ranger will be awarded rajayapala purskar (nippun), then he/she will get 5% weight age for higher studies (admission) & in service & job. And also when the rover/ranger will got president’s award, he he/she will get 10% weight age for higher studies (admission) and in jobs.

This year i.e. during 2009-2010 session 5 rovers are awarded rajayapala purskar (nippun).
