Athletic Association

The Constitution of the Aska Science College Athletic Club is as follows.

  1. The Club shall consist of all the members of the staff and the student of +3 classes with the Principal as Ex-officio President.
  2. The Executive Committee of the Athletic Club shall be called Aska Science College Athletic Council.
  1. The Executive Committee:
    It shall consist of:
    1. The Principal as the Ex-officio President.
    2. A Vice-President nominated by the Principal from among the teaching staff.
    3. Two Associate Vice-Presidents to be nominated by the Principal from among the members of the staff.
    4. The P.E.T.
    5. A Secretary to be elected as per Rule 9 of the College Union.
    6. One class representative from each class of each faculty and a representative of the girls.
    7. Captains of all games as might exist in the College.
    8. In the absence of any captain, the Vice-Captain can attend any meeting of the council in his place and shall enjoy all privileges of the Captain for the time being.
  2. ELECTION RULES:
    1. Election to all the post representing students interests is subjected to the Rule 9 subclause of the College Union.
    2. Only playing members are to be the class representative of the Athletic Club.
    3. The Principal, his nominees from the teaching staff, the P.E.T. and class representative will elect the Captains and Vice-Captains from a list submitted by the playing members of a particular game.
    4. Contest for Secretaryship of the Athletic Club is open to all members.
    5. The Secretary can not be the Captain for any game while he is Secretary, if so, he will have to resign from one of the two offices.
    6. In case there are vacancies owing to the leaving the College by the Captains and Vice-Captains during the session, the Athletic Council will fill up the Vacancies.
  3. TENURE OF OFFICE:
    1. The Council's tenure of offices shall be for one session only.
    2. The Honorary Secretary elected in the previous session shall carry on the work in the following session till next election takes place.
    3. If the Secretary elected in the previous session does not join the College in the following session, the Vice-President may nominate another Secretary from among the senior most class representative of the Council to carry on the work.
    4. The Captain, elected in the previous session shall continue to hold the office till next election. If any Captain does not join, the Vice-Captain of that game will fill his place. If both of them do not join, the Vice-President shall nominate a Captain till the next election, if he finds the work can not be managed without a captain.
    5. If work of the elected Secretary is found to be unsatisfactory he may be removed by :
      1. the order of the Principal.
      2. a vote of no-confidence passed by the 2/3rd majority of the total strength of the students.
    6. If a Captain keeps himself from the field, continuously for 15 days without sufficient reasons, he will ipsofacto cease to be the Captain.
  4. WORK OF THE COUNCIL:
    1. The Council shall consider and pass the budget, prepare a sub-committee consisting of the Vice-President, Associate Vice-President, P.E.T., Secretary, Captains and Vice- Captains. The budget should be submitted before the Principal for final approval.
    2. Generally manage the affairs of the club.
    3. Promote games and Athletic amongst the students. All the decisions of the council are subject to the approval of the Principal.
  5. WORK OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT:
    1. All orders of sorts goods and necessary articles.
    2. The P.E.T. will work under the direction of the Vice-President and he should guide and advise the Captains and Vice-Captains to organise the college games.
  6. WORK OF CAPTAINS:
    1. He will select players for friendly and competitive matches.
    2. He will be in charge of the grounds set apart for the games in the charge.
    3. With the Secretary he will be responsible for the organisation of the College games.
    4. Neither the Secretary nor the Captain should arrange any match without the prior approval of the Vice-President.
  7. THE WORK OF THE P.E.T.:
    1. To keep all the invoices in the stock book.
    2. To keep an account of sports goods.
    3. To look after the play grounds.
    4. To look after drills and compulsory games.
    5. To do such work in connection with sports as the Vice-President asks him to do so.
  8. ANNUAL SPORTS:
    There shall be a subcommittee consisting of the Principal, the Vice-President. The Associate Vice-President, P.E.T, Class representatives of all classes and staff member nominated by the Principal to organise the annual sports every year.
